Labor Day Weekend in Seattle
We chose to go to Seattle on one of the nicest weekends. It was 80 to 90 degrees everyday. It didnt rain once. We started our trip by driving to Portland Friday night after work. We stayed at a friend's house. Saturday morning we left Portland around 7:30am and arrived in Seattle around 10:30. Our hotel was 20 minutes north of downtown Seattle and check-in wasnt until 3, so we decided to hang around downtown and SHOP!! We decided to go to Seattle to see the city but also to shop because there are no malls in Central Oregon. I was really excited to go shopping for clothes for my new job. We went to this really nice mall in downtown Bellvue. Bellvue is a suburb of Seattle. We then went to PF Changs for lunch. We had these really great lettuce wraps and some spicy green beans.

Here is Keo and I on top of the Space Needle. In the background is the downtown area of Seattle.
After lunch we checked into our hotel. The rest of saturday we spent exploring the area around the Space Needle. Labor Day weekend was also the same weekend as Bumbershoot. The Bumbershoot Festival was this huge music festival. The most famous act was Kanye West. We decided to go up the Space Needle around 7:30pm. We were able to see Seattle during the day, at sunset and at dusk. The city was really beautiful from the top of the needle.

This is the Seattle city scape.
On Sunday we tried to fit in some more shopping. We went to another mall and to IKEA. The IKEA was so huge. It took us 2 and half hours to walk all the way through. For dinner we went to this great Korean BBQ restaurant in Bellvue. It was called the Blue Ginger. we picked a dish of beef and a dish of raw vegetables. We also had a korean soup.

Here is me in front of the Space Needle when on Saturday.
At our table we had a BBQ built right into the table. We ate our soup and grilled our beef and vegetables. This restaurant gave us at least ten side dishes. Some of our favorite side dishes were the raddish kimchee (pickled raddish with red pepper) and the pickled bean sprouts. It was so fun grilling and marinating our own food. It took us an hour and a half to eat(a personal record). After dinner we decided to walk off our meal at the Seattle Pike Market. We saw the original Starbucks and the fish market.

Sorry for such a long blog but we had a lot of fun! :)
