River Trail

We have been trying to use our bike rack more, which allows us to take our bikes to more locations. Today we brought our bikes to the Deschutes National Forest and rode a trail along one of the rivers. We had a lot more fun on this trail because it was all dirt and less technical. We also went riding in the evening so we did not have to deal with the blazing sun. Although we were fortunate not to be targets of the sun we had to endure mosquito heaven. Mosquitoes are not that common in this part of the country because most of Central Oregon is high desert climate. But we were riding in the forest next to a river. The second we stepped out of the car we were eaten alive. We have since bought some bug spray and are prepared to fight back. We rode for about an hour before heading home because of dusk. On the way home we drove up Mt. Bachelor. Mt. Bachelor is a local snow park. People come to Central Oregon to ski this mountain. Here is a picture of Erica on her bike at one of the lookouts and some close up pictures of Mt. Bachelor.
