Mountain Biking at Smith Rock

Today was the day we decided to try out our new bike rack and truck our mountain bikes to Smith Rock! The temperature was well over 100 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and absolutely NO shade. Smith Rock State Park is in Terrebonne, OR and about 40 minutes from Bend. The state park has tons of Hiking/Biking trails and rock climbing sites. We were very ambitious and attempted the easiest trail. Soon into the bike ride we realized we were way out of our league. We rode about a mile on the trail and decided to head back. Keo almost ran over a snake and I almost fell on my face going down a gravel hill. All in all it was a beautiful site and we got a REALLY good work out; especially when we had to push our bikes up the ravine to get out of the valley and back to our car.
